In our 6 months of travelling around Europe, this is possibly the WORST hostel we have stayed at. PLEASE dont waste your time or money. The staff are rude and incompetent. The keys to the room almost never work so you always have to go down stairs to reception to get it fixed. They charge you extra fees for almost everything. The atmosphere is terrible, its so awkward to be in any of the common areas - we always felt so uncomfortable. Its almost as though its the hangout place for drunken locals. A very intoxicated man was let into our dorm where he proceeded to yell and swear at people in our dorm, and swear to himself. He even got up and urinated all over the window and a persons shoes, drink bottle and our bag. We also werent refunded for their faulty laundry machine after attempting to use it either.
Convenient and cheap; comfortable yet sterile; no atmosphere and definitely not the friendliest hostel I've ever stayed at. Itchy as hell bed linen.Asked the guy working reception for local recommendation - was told to check on my phone! About sums up the place.
Excellent and efficient hostel. Very clean. Well organized and staffed by friendly Glasgow people speaking a very fast, strange language, at least to my American ears. My maiden voyage to U.K. Love it, especially the Scots!!
UPDATE: They put an extra charge on my account of over $200 a week AFTER I stayed there. I tried contacting them to find out why and they are being non-responsive after I showed them proof of the extra transaction. I now have to fight the transaction through my bank. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS PLACE, THEY WILL TRY TO RIP YOU OFF.You get what you paid for. 1 shared bathroom in each dorm for 8 people. Facilities aren't very good and the key card kept not working. They have bums stay there sometimes and it can be sketchy for leaving your stuff there while you see the city. But, there are lockers underneath the bunks for your valuables, plus large locker storage in a separate area in the hostel that you need to pay for. About 30min walk from the city centre
The best value for your money. 20 minutes walk to the center. 4 beds room was cozy and with space, lockers under the bed. Industrial area thats why its so cheap, if you want to be close to the center pay more and get normal people staying and not weird. Yes the walls shake when a truck driving in the road. Just for short stay, sleeping and out.
