Scam advertised as a vehicle hire company. While the prices on the website look great, you end up paying nearly double that in "additional insurance fees". Go to a reputable place to hire vehicles.
DO NOT BOOK HERE. It's expensive (they overcharged for no reason) and the service is ridiculously bad. We booked a car online Fiat 500 3DR (Manual) or similar. Upon arrival we were charged extra fee for some insurance we didn't want but HAD to take. And then, they told us our car was not available so we'll have to get (at the same price) a commercial vehicle. Of course we had no other choice than to accept as they told us this AFTER we paid everything. They refused to give us a full refund even if they couldn't provide the service we paid for. This is a pure SCAM. The vehicle was in disgusting conditions and hadn't been cleaned at all. We had to demand that the car got cleaned up, and therefor had to wait for them to clean it up and receive the vehicle hours later than planned (it was for a day trip.)This was my worst experience with a rental company. Well it's more a scam company than an actual company. Avoid it.
We had a marvelous experience with Easirent. Chris in particular was wonderful. The online booking process was easy, facilitated by the option for advanced uploading of travel documents. The facility itself, while in a bit of an industrial part of the city, was a quick taxi drive from downtown. Once there, Chris was very helpful in ensuring everything was in order and we had the right vehicle despite our own confusions! And you can't beat the price. Any one of our group of 5 would vote to come back and rent at any time for future Glasgow--based Scotland adventures! Thanks :)
Place seems suspect. They made us get additional insurance plus it wasn't easy to get the cars. Seemed like they ran out and were trying to get us into a huge van. Ultimately the cars ran fine hence the 2 stars. They're cheap but don't expect it to be convenient. Also take pictures and video before you take the car from the lot.
I would a million % NEVER recommend this company !!!! I booked & paid online the price for the car & what I thought was the insurance. On arrival to pick car up I was requested to pay 1,500 on my credit card to which I refused. The other choice was to pick 1of 3 amounts for more insurance ? ... 115, 126 or 135, none of which were refundable ! God only knows what would have been racked up on my card if I had left those details ??I told the person at the desk I already got the insurance. He replied it wasn't through them but through a broker, it wasn't enough. In total for a small car for 3 days, it was going to cost near to 200 ... I THINK NOT !!!!I didn't take the car & was told to phone the broker's number to cancel. I did this only to be told I was too late & would lose the money I had paid, nearly 60... Fuming does not come close to how I felt !!!I admit I did not read all the small print, as many many people don't.My argument was... I was not aware I was dealing with a broker online to begin with. In person, I believe there were too many hidden charges & false advertising in my eyes.. BE AWARE PEOPLE !!!!!
