Went there with my grandson and had a great time. Make sure you take midge spray as there can be a lot by the water but we bought midge candles too and they didn't worry us. Couldn't have found a better area fo taking photos and it's started my grandson enjoying photography ever since. Must be a bonus if it starts getting him out and looking around instead of at a computer screen
Fab place to go for a walk but obviously because its run by the forestry you have to pay for parking. Not too expensive but annoying none the less! We had a great walk around the woods in the area but ended up off the main track because I think they lacked some signs to keep us in the right direction.
A great spot on the banks of Loch Lomond. Wild camping March - October is managed by wardens. Excellent facilities and walking. It lies on The West Highland Way.
Pitched up here three times; twice whilst on the West Highland Way. If you manage to get one of the spots by the Loch, it's a real wild camping feel whilst having the amenities near by. Composting toilets, maintained site, running water. I'd recommend booking in advance however. The best spots go quickly!
Short stop but idyllic location. Right on the beach quiet camp site for day or extended use. Well maintained with pit toilets available. The good is that this place hasn't materially changed in 50 years... Yes the facilities are more modern but the feeling is the same as in the late 60's when I first came here.
