I've tried lotus twice now because of all the good reviews it's been getting, but I have to say I'm not a fan. First time it was a take away which was very disappointing, but figured I'd give it another chance sitting in and go in with slightly lower expectation, but the food experience was only mildly better this time. The soup we had for starters ranged from mediocre to completely bland and inetible. The mains again were very hit and miss with a somewhat standard veg dish being the highlight and the vegan meat options being quite tasteless. It didn't help that it was quite cold in the restaurant and that we waited about an hour for our mains. It pains me a bit writing a bad review for a place where the owners are generally nice but you can get a lot better vegan food in this town.

Visited quite a few times now with family. Still cant believe this place exists all your old favourite Chinese dishes but made vegan, all full of flavour and generous portions make great for leftovers to take home. The owner Eric and his staff Go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. Fully recommend

Dashed in quickly before a gig at O2 with two friends. The staff were extremely accommodating, attentive and friendly. The owner is very passionate about what you eat and keen to share that. Food was very tasty, especially the chicken satay, we all marvelled at it. Would definitely make this a regular haunt if I lived in Glasgow. Even though the food is vegan it is very much a good option for meat eaters too.

The best vegan Chinese food Ive ever tried! Absolutely loved it - cant wait to go back. The staff were so friendly and really accommodating and very polite. Lovely restaurant.

I recently visited lotus before going to a gig at the O2 academy, just along the road. I tried crispy noodles for the first time and really enjoyed my food. It wasn't exceptional but definitely good. There was a good range of food and the portions were huge. The salt and pepper chips were fantastic too. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. I would go back but I imagine that as I am not in Glasgow all that often my next visit may not be for a while.
