Dangerously LACKING CAREaggressive uncaring staff, ignorant to the point of neglectful, place needs a total shake up, nurses complain they're busy? Don't seem to do much apart from stand and yap to each otherWas in agony After ruptured cysts waited 4 hours for painkillers.
IVF clinic (ACU) at GRI appalling, discriminatory, unethical. Worst experience of my life. They give wrong information, they assess for mothering capacity without knowledge so base judgements on prejudice, they wasted years of my life and refused the treatment they initially agreed. Their appointments are late and you cant get questions answered. They dont let you get treated every month, there are senseless delays. When things go wrong, they remove information from the file, no adequate assessment of complaint and they only care about covering their mistakes. I have complained to many authorities but no one is properly holding them to account. They treat people with disability and mental health worse than they treat everyone else. No empathy. No ability to listen. No caring.
This is the worst hospital I have ever experienced. My husband was completely traumatised when he was discharged and he refused to be re-admitted so was treated at a local hospital. Most of the staff in all the departments we came in to contact with were aggressive and unpleasant. The pancreatic cancer liaison nurse was appalling. The place was dirty, there were not enough blankets, my husband lay on a wet pillow, the food was awful and sometimes non existent. Lifts did not work and nursing care was really neglectful. When I complained they threw the complaint in the bin.
Had a couple of very distressing episodes in ward 18, one was mum needed the commode 1 night and after i kept on calling for assistance i was told by one auxiliary named 'Allison' we have other patients to deal with other than your mum you know. OK yes i understood that and even after they had dealt with the patient and passed by our room it was left to myself to put lots of paper towels underneath my mum so she could do her business without soiling both her gown and chair as mum was then immobile. Another 15-20 minutes passed and by this time i had cleaned all of the mess up myself, 15 minutes later they came with the commode but it was unneeded after a near 45 minute wait @ 22.50. Luckily i was there for my mum that night as i did always go in every evening just to spend time with her alone for hours on end right up until she passed in Spring 2018, some staff were nice and pleasant but some not so and i dont understand why they're in a job like this with attitudes as such! I came across this on my older mobile as was perusing through it, the audio is crystal clear and there is around 20+ minutes of video footage of this incident and the rest is just sound, so if anyone wishes to advise me on what should i do with this 48 minute long insight into unhelpful with rather rude staff whose job is to care for patients not just ignoring their needs certainly on this occasion, then inform me what is my best option or tell me if im being oversensitive as it's my mum thanks.
A big thank you to the staff of Ward 6 for the care and compassion they showed my 90 year old father during his recent stay there (Sep 18). A big thumbs up from us both.
