She put me on hold and hung up the call

Can't speak highly enough of the staff from top to bottom, The service was impecable Dr's and Nurses knowledge and understanding was great.

The administration at Ross Hall is completely shambolic. I had a surgery scheduled for 28 August 2018, which was then pushed to 10 September 2018 by the surgeon. Sometimes that happens. I go in for my pre-op appointment, no problems. I went on 10 Sept for my surgery, arrived at 6:00 am, went in through admissions, got to my room, got on my gown, then was told that the equipment needed for the operation hadn't been ordered. Rescheduled surgery again to 15 October, 2018. I then had to do another pre-op appointment. I have just attended my 2nd pre-op, bloods taken, etc. and while I was still there I was told that my appointment was made too early, that bloods were only good for 6 days, and I was there 14 days prior to my surgery. Now I have to go back again for yet another pre-op appointment (and I live an hour away from the hospital) I called the hospital several times to find out why this had happened, and was placed on hold on three different occasions, with nobody ever getting on the phone to discuss my situation. I ended up hanging up all three times. If it weren't for me wanting to be operated on by this particular surgeon I would definitely cancel my operation for 15 October. If the hospital is this disorganised in the administration side of things, it gives me absolutely no confidence that they even know that the hell they're doing in any other aspect of running this hospital.Their slogan is "Serious about health, Passionate about care"...that is a joke. Get serious about your administration! It's bad enough that patients are having to go in for surgery, with all the stress that that creates, but now having to worry if the hospital is going to make mistakes makes the stress levels several times greater.

Very poor visitor facilities - canteen is something out the 60s - if you want a coffee it's 2 in a machine. Endoscopy suite is a 'shed' attached to main building. Ross Hall has obviously had little inthe way of investment over the last 10 years - not good enough BUPA.

Be warned! Calamaty of errors and shockingly poor service. On first visit I was asked to complete a form. All very normal. Attached to the form is a card where you give your review of their service. This card had already been filled giving a 100% satisfaction rating. Very sneaky! On both consultations with a consultant, my medical files were not available. The reason? Someone had imputed my name incorrectly to their system. The cardiologist had to arrange for the medical files to be sent to his own email to enable the consultation to proceed. I was then referred onto another consultant whos speciality was different. I received a text message informing me of an appointment. No letter! On telephoning Ross Hall, I was told that they do not sent out letters for appointments! On the day of my appointment I questioned Ross Hall and my medical insurance company to ask if the consultant was on the list of approved doctors for my medical insurance. I am so glad I asked, as he was NOT on the list, therefore, I would have incurred a hefty charge for seeing a consultant who could not treat me. Ross Hall would not give the consultants name to my insurers, therefore, I had to make several calls to obtain the relevant information. All of this 3 hours before the appointment. I have now had to request a referral letter from the initial consultant to progress with my medical insurance claim. Please note, it was the original consultant who referred me to the second consultant who I was due to see today. Be very careful when dealing with this hospital. They do not act professionally or in your best interests. You are given the runaround and even something as basic as getting your name right seems to be beyond their capabilities. Goodness knows how the treatments are conducted!
