Absolutely ace place. Come here when I can when in Glasgow, ace sit-in service, ace food too... Highly recommended to all for a great traditional sit down chipper...
Our go to fish and chips. Excellent quality every time. Convenient if not slightly sketchy location under the hielemans' umbrella. Has a restaurant which seats a good few people although I've never actually sat in always seems busy. Tourists should try the deep fried mars bars if only once. Everyone else should have a pizza crunch or the sausage supper. Both excellent.
Just seconds before my son and I met up at Glasgow Central, my Son bought a small portion of chips to take away from here. I caught him as he was coming out and, with the whaft, I wanted some too. I went in and asked and paid for an extra large portion which was ,I think, 3.70. They were exactly the same amount of chips only laid out in a much bigger carton. I'll go to MacDonald's next time - you know what you're getting and don't get conned. Beware folks!
It was ideal. Just what we needed on a cold wet night. Stopped of for a fish supper and some tome to reflect on our visit to Glasgow. It was nice to eat insidetoo, although, the seating is definitely designed to fit more in opposed to comfort. However, this didn't distract from the outstandingly well cooked chips, crispy outside, fluffy within.... as for the fish. Well, that was well presented, lightly golden brown and very well seasoned I don't know if this place gets the credit it's due, but I'd give the food 10/10 . Service 10/10 prices 10/10. The ONLY thing I can find fault with, is the seating area. It's not very disabled friendly. But by giving up, just 1 table and 1 bench, I think you would get much more space and room for disabled access also. But furniture aside, FOOD WAS A DELIGHT. THANK YOU. IT WAS NICE NOT TO EAT AT THE HOTEL FOR 1 NIGHT...And we picked / found thee perfect place to do so. THANK YOU X
Friendly staff and good food! The fish and chips was nicely done with the thin crispy coating and juicy succulent meat inside. Whereas the chicken croutons was equally good and the side salad was fresh. Loved the hot chocolate cake too. Food was beyond my expectations!
