A hidden gem. The Govan Stones collection housed in the church offers a fascinating glimpse into early Scottish history, as well as the impact of the vikings on local communities. Furthermore, the church itself is highly architecturally significant, and you can learn more about both its history, and that of the parish, inside.
A beautiful gothic church, well kept, with well preserved Viking and medieval carved stones inside. Lovely ladies welcoming you at the entrance and helping you with any enquiry.

A hidden gem. Typical Victorian church with relatively modern but elaborate stained glass windows. Main attraction is the Viking sarcophagi found nearby. Background info on display or from volunteers. Only opens after 1 o'clock. Handy for picturesque tiny free Govan Ferry that goes to Riverside Museum. Graveyard also worth wandering round. Close to buses and Underground station, and local Govan worthies.
