Haven't been here in decades since my student days and it looks like it hasn't changed much. The design of the cafe is still very much in the Art Deco style and has celebrated it's 100 years in business. The interiors are just as I remember with a mixture of fold down chairs and booth style tables. Yeah, you heard that right, fold down chairs. Something like the folding seating that you'd get at a sports stadium, but plusher and more comfortable. The food and menu is very much stereotypical British style cafe with the added bonus of lots and lots of ice cream and milkshakes to take you back to childhood. The cafe still has lots of sweets behind the counter to buy. All laid out in those plastic containers like you used to find in the traditional sweet shops. Okay, so the food isn't healthy and I'm now a vegetarian, so there's far fewer items on the menu that I can eat. The chips with cheese and curry option sounds like a coronary too far, so I just went with the chips and fried egg and a cup of tea. Having stuck firmly to the healthy side of eating for so long, I'd forgotten just how good a good old traditional Glasgow fry up can taste. Thanks for the food and the memories and hope this cafe stays in business for another 100 years.

The man there was lovely to us. Helped me with my pram and made my 3 month old girl smile. X

Not been in here for years. Honest food at great prices. If you want candles and napkins walk further up Byres Road.

Well priced and excellent quality. Quaint time warp that is unchanged even after being open many years. Look out for their home made award winning ice cream.

It's hard to believe that this business is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. I've always been very fond this fine establishment over the years. It's always worth visiting if you happen to be in the Byres Road area. Their traditional premises made ice cream is worth a visit alone.
